Colleges and Universities Achieve Election Perfection with eBallot

Leading colleges and universities turn to eBallot for secure and reliable online elections

Washington, D.C., June 23, 2006 - Votenet Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of self-service, 100% web-based online voting and nominations software for organizations, today announced that several leading educational institutions in the United States recently used eBallot to administer key online elections and votes, including:

·  University of California, Santa Barbara

· Towson University

· Rutgers College

· University of California, San Francisco

· Morgan State University

· City College of New York

· Mt. San Antonio College

· Bergen County Community College

·  University of the Pacific

· San Jose State University

·  Willamette University

· George Washington University Law School

"These clients validate our leadership position in the education marketplace. Universities are realizing the benefits of using a reliable 3rd party online voting software for their campus elections," noted Michael Tuteur, CEO of Votenet Solutions, Inc. "Hosted solutions like eBallot are more reliable and robust than in-house solutions. University technology departments don't have the time to develop and deliver the functionality, security and support needed to run a successful online election. With eBallot, the technology department doesn’t have to be the bottleneck. eBallot democratizes campus elections by distributing the necessary Election Administration tools to the personnel running the elections."

Unlike other software applications, eBallot eliminates the need for up-front capital investment. It’s delivered as a subscription and pricing includes everything needed to run a successful online election.

eBallot's self-service architecture enables Election Administrators to setup ballots in minutes through a simple web-interface. Using eBallot’s powerful ballot design tools, universities can determine the look, feel, requirements, rules and layout of their ballots.

During the Spring 2006 semester, universities used eBallot to administer various types of votes, including:

· Class Awards: George Washington University Law School deployed eBallot to select its 2006 class award recipients.

· Residence Hall Leadership: Willamette University used eBallot to administer its residence hall elections.

· Student Senators: The City College of New York used eBallot to elect new student senators from each of its core academic programs.

· Student Government Officials: Alabama A&M deployed eBallot to elect its student government leaders for 2006-2007.

“The vote was a smashing success. We doubled the "turnout" from the year before,” commented Mike Briggs, Director Information Technology, George Washington University Law School.

“Votenet Solutions has been apart of our election process for two years, it was established to enhance the Student Government election process,” noted Alfred Baker, Director CHAMPS/ Life Skills. “Our office has found that voting online has increased voter participation. This program also gives a more accurate and convenient voting option.”

Because of its unparalleled flexibility, eBallot can also accommodate unique voting requirements and formats. During the Spring 2006 semester, eBallot delivered specialized ballots for:

· Second Choice Voting: The University of California, Santa Barbara ran a second choice election that allowed eligible voters to select a first choice for school President and a second choice.

· Straight Ticket Voting: Towson University's election offered a straight ticket voting option where candidates were organized by party affiliation.

· Student Portal Integration: eBallot used bridge solution to connect San Jose State University’s People-soft-powered student portal with eBallot’s voter authentication system. With this integrated solution, eligible SJSU students were able to access ballots using their existing student portal pass codes.

“I am very pleased with the service and response you have given us this year! I look forward to working with you on our next election,” commented Dan Ashlock, Director, Student Activities at Towson University.

"Our customers expect more – they want an affordable solution that can handle various election formats. eBallot is the choice solution because it can handle instant runoff voting, second choice voting, straight ticket voting and a variety of other voting scenarios," said Raj Naik, Vice President of Votenet Solutions, Inc.
