Integris Credit Union is a full-service financial institution based in northern British Columbia with seven branches in the communities of Clinton, Fort St. James, Prince George, Quesnel and Vanderhoof. Our vision is to be our members' first choice for banking, insurance and financial planning services.
Challenges
Integris used paper ballots to run their Board of Directors elections across five municipalities and seven branch locations. Each branch required a polling station and an attendant, who was responsible for tabulation and transporting ballots, to be present each day of voting. Integris’ management wanted a new solution that would reduce their costs and preserve the security and integrity of the voting process.
Solutions
Despite a short time frame for implementation, eBallot delivered an online voting solution in less than ten days. Credit union members were able to visit their branch location and vote online at a computer terminal. To ensure members could not access the ballot and vote from home, eBallot restricted voting to the IP addresses associated with the computers in each branch. This unique security feature along with eBallot’s SAS70 Certification provided Integris with peace-of-mind.
Impact
Despite time constraints and unique security concerns, Integris conducted a successful online Board of Director election that cost 50% less than their prior elections.
